On the Swahili coast of the Zanzibar Archipelago in East Africa, lies semi-autonomous Pemba Island. As one of the worldâ€™s leading Clove producer in only 988 square kilometers, the Island is divided into two regions of Chake-Chake and Mkoani. It is found on the North of its twin Island Unguja.
Most of Pembaâ€™s inhabitants are Swahili speakers who descended from Persian Gulf and came for business in the East African coast around 10thC and later conquered by the Arab traders and Sultans.
